An international exhibition, consisting of 58 works by 50 artists from 29 countries, selected from 1150 proposals (submitted by 870 artists from 65 countries) received after an open call organised by Contextile 2020. The proposals responded to a free theme or were developed on the basis of the biennial’s transversal concept: “Places of Memory – Inter-discourses of a textile territory”. A multidisciplinary jury - formed by Janis Jefferies, Lala de Dios, Rosa Godinho, Cláudia Melo and Jorge Costa - selected artistic works that reveal high creativity, originality and technical competence in relation to the respective textile element, in terms of the construction, theme, concept or material used.
