Two talented Portuguese jazz musicians, with a long career, Bruno Santos and Ricardo Toscano are neighbours in Lisbon. During the lockdown, they staged daily concerts in their backyards and porches that were broadcast via the internet. In the midst of all the doubts and confusion, with no one knowing when the lockdown was going to end, they were fortunate enough to get together, on a daily basis, to learn, recall or forget classics and less well-known compositions from the jazz repertoire. This was unusual, but a privilege, in view of the lockdown situation. An idea originally conceived by Rita Redshoes, who “pushed” them into their backyards, to play music for their neighbours. Now, it’s their turn to perform in the CCVF’s magnificent garden, in the second concert by ‘Lufada’.
