Throughout history, we have always dreamed of heights: we want more. We want to go higher. We don’t want this anymore, but we want a great deal of that. Often, by our side, songs were saying all of this. They were saying things like: We no longer tolerate racism. We want equal rights for men and women. Good health care for all, without exception. We want more libraries. Preservation of forests. Fair wages. People-friendly work schedules. Things like that - that are serious and important. Things so loud that they can’t be whispered.
This is going to be a concert that will celebrate the power of music. Can music change the world? Does the world change music? What does music say about people’s projects? This concert will travel through space and time to discover some of the songs that brought us together and that we needed to sing (loudly!) in order to make ourselves heard. (Are you listening or do I need to talk louder?).
