The Orquestra de Guimarães’ fifth artistic residency in 2022, integrated within the programme of the 44th International Conference of the EPTA (European Piano Teacher Association), proposes two of the most exuberant and famous works by two virtuoso pianists/composers: Franz Liszt and Sergei Rachmaninoff. The Orquestra de Guimarães will perform with the acclaimed pianist António Rosado in this concert. Conducted by Vítor Matos, the orchestra will make a foray into late German romanticism with Franz Liszt’s 3rd symphonic poem, “Les Préludes”, followed by Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto nº 2, an essential work by the Russian composer and of the modern piano repertoire.
