The MICA Creation Incentive Grant – Change and Creative Intervention in Handicrafts aims to support artistic projects linked to the expertise and craft techniques associated to Guimarães’ ancestral arts, giving rise to innovation and thinking about the place of handicrafts today. During the month of October, the illustrator and designer Cecília Lages (Hey CECILIA!) will develop her creative project inspired by Guimarães Embroidery and its symbology — the presence of the feminine in the culture of work and labour equality that, even today, still needs to be remembered. This will also be the main theme of the conversation.
