The jam sessions are certainly one of the most identifying marks of Guimarães Jazz. It is this improvisational perspective that unveils the more informal nature of jazz, one that both allows the public to appreciate this musical form in a more direct way and brings audiences closer to the musicians. This year, the jam sessions at CCVF Café Concerto and at the Convívio Cultural Association will be led by trumpeter and composer from the Chicago jazz scene, Victor Garcia, who will be accompanied by a group of high-level musicians – the pianist Ben Lewis, drummer Greg Artry, bassist Josh Ramos and vocalist Jill Katona.
