This is the story of Arménia, who is not Armenian, has never been to Armenia, and spends her daily life in front of the piano. In this story, there is also an Armenian man, whose name is not Arménio, who counts the seeds of a pomegranate from the Ottoman Empire. There is also a hairdresser—the great-grandson of a head-chopping knight—who cuts hair and cuts conversations short. Is there room for everyone inside? Or will a language be left sticking out? Oriental microtones, Western halftones, and half-spoken words through shared walls invite us to care for the tones within ourselves and to learn how to see and hear those of others. A piece inspired by Vahan's family history and the coincidences that bring distant realities together.
