Rite of Decay is a dance about death, or various deaths. The choreographer and performer Joana Castro, in collaboration with the sound artist Diana Combo, commences with the idea of managing a body that multiplies into others, already extinct or to come. A decaying body that is exposed, that fails, where everything and nothing, persistence and renunciation, presence and absence confront each other, in an attempt to reconcile with the end. The end of the world as a metaphor for our own degradation.
